Auditions for Stoned

King Lear

Bowls with the Bard is excited to announce auditions for our stoned production of King Lear, directed by Clove Love. Actors must be comfortable around marijuana but not all actors are required to smoke. Actors must be 21+ by April 2026 to audition.

Auditions will be held at 1490 N. Lafayette St on Sunday, March 1 from 12 - 4pm with callbacks following immediately after. Video auditions will be accepted if you are unavailable for auditions.

To audition, please prepare one 90 second Shakespearean monologue, preferably in verse. 

We will rehearse from the beginning of March until the end of May. Please reference the signupgenius description for a more thorough breakdown of our rehearsal schedule. Performances will be held at Tetra Private Lounge & Garden May 29 & 30 and June 5 & 6 from 6-9pm. Additional nonsmoking preview performances will be held at Three Leaches Theater in Lakewood on April 24 and 25 from 6-9pm.

  • Track 1: Kent & Oswald - $650
  • Track 2: Gloucester & Cordelia - $650
  • Track 3: Lear & Fool - $750
  • Track 4: Edmund & Goneril - $650
  • Track 5: Regan & Edgar $650
  • Track 6: Albany & France - $550
  • Track 7: Cornwall & Burgundy - $550
  • Track 8: Steward, Attendant, & Curan- $550
  • Track 9: Knight, Attendant, & Gentle Old Man - $550
